We're celebrating 20 years of being in Tassie with a special vintage shiraz release. The 2018 and 2019 Mon Père are drinking beautifully - quite different, but both with delicious cool climate shiraz characters balanced with delicate oak courtesy of Nick's hand-picked Rhône Valley barrels.

The Vertical Tasting Box includes both back vintages alongside the current release Mon Père from 2022.

2018 Mon Père Shiraz

This was a relatively early and warm season for Tasmania. The 2018 Mon Père has a aromas of black olive tapenade, fresh white pepper, violets, smoked meat, graphite. Medium-plus body with tightly wound black fruits. Blackberry, cassis, and mulberry, wrapped around a firm core of mineral and savoury spice. Subtle cured-meat and herb notes unfurl with air.

2019 Mon Père Shiraz
A cooler, more aromatic and elegant year, producing shiraz grapes with more black than white peppercorn, leather, cured meats, forest floor and dark cherry, Flavours are dense and earthy with brooding black fruit, dried herbs, and a touch of game.

2022 Mon Père Shiraz (current release)
White pepper spice, bacon fat, fennel and black olive. Supple tannins, finishing with an impressive expansion of body.
Delicious now, or cellar for 5+ years.
