The Mon Père made national headlines in 2011 when it won the Jimmy Watson trophy at the Melbourne Wine Show - the first Tasmanian wine to win the coveted prize.
Modelled on the Rhône Valley’s elegant but full bodied syrah style, this is cool climate shiraz at its best.

About the wines
2022 Mon Père Shiraz
Full bodied with subtle white pepper spice & delicious white prosciutto, fennel and black olive aromas. ‘Uniquely styled with gently fragrant and alluring aromas of dark earth, toasted spice, black liquorice and white pepper … meaty flavours accented by red cherry and spice, laced with supple tannins on the finish’ - Angus Hughson, Vinous.
2019 Mon Père Shiraz
A cooler, more aromatic and elegant year, producing shiraz grapes with more black than white peppercorn, leather, cured meats, forest floor and dark cherry, Flavours are dense and earthy with brooding black fruit, dried herbs, and a touch of game.

2018 Mon Père Shiraz
This was a relatively early and warm season for Tasmania. The 2018 shiraz has a aromas of black olive tapenade, fresh white pepper, violets, smoked meat, graphite. Medium-plus body with tightly wound black fruits. Blackberry, cassis, and mulberry, wrapped around a firm core of mineral and savoury spice. Subtle cured-meat and herb notes unfurl with air.
